Derrick Ingram, organizer of Warriors In The Garden, was besieged by the NYPD on Friday Aug, 7, 2020 at his apartment for 6 hours because of an assault charge. The NYPD eventually left when they failed to provide a warrant for his arrest. According to NYPD Derrick had assaulted an officer at a rally on June 14 by holding a megaphone to a cop's ear and yelling resulting in hearing loss.
Guided by his group, Warriors In The Garden and protesters, Derrick marched to the precinct and surrendered on Saturday 8.8.2020. He was quickly released and his felony charge was dropped to a misdemeanor.
